Harriett Jones studied Classical Ballet from an early age and passed her I.S.T.D. ballet examinations up to Intermediate Foundation level. Having studied Ballet, she became interested in Contemporary Dance and chose to study this alongside Ballet at Barton Peveril College, Eastleigh.

In 2004, she undertook a BA in Choreography & Dance at the University of Winchester, where she studied Ballet, Cunningham technique, Release technique, Limone technique, and Graham technique.

She has performed regularly as part of a Student Dance Company and has worked as a dancer, in a professional dance company touring schools throughout Hampshire performing and offering workshops with the primary, secondary and A-Level students. Her final year project was chosen to be toured as part of the company's repertoire. It was a project investigating patterns in movement, space and time through characters inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland.

As part of her degree she chose to take part in a module known as Dance Facilitation. In this module she was given the opportunity to learn the skills and devices needed to become a confident and enthusiastic dance teacher and choreographer.

Harriett has extensive experience in performance and has been involved in performance at The Pointe Theatre, Eastleigh, Annual dance school shows, County festivals, and has performed at Her Majesty's Theatre, Haymarket, London.

She has recently returned from a dance tour of Europe, performing a dance piece choreographed by Dance Critic Paul Jackson and she completed a student placement with the highly respected Siobhan Davies Dance Company and The Rambert Dance Company. This placement gave Harriett the opportunity to learn in great detail about Bird Song (2004), Encore (2006) and Bloom (2006), which are two key GCSE Dance sequences.

Harriett is a talented individual both in dance teaching and dance performance and Solo Teachers are very pleased to have her onboard to work with students across Hampshire and beyond, twirling them into the spotlight.
